Oban Baptist Church

Spiritual - Relational - Generational

Detailed below are the next steps OBC is taking, in light of our latest Leadership Team meeting, guidance from the Baptist Union of Scotland and the latest government recommendations.

Whilst these next steps will pose new challenges to us all, we are trusting that God will offer up opportunity to know Him more and make Him known.

1.  For the foreseeable future, all services will be delivered online, with no meeting scheduled at the Albany Street church building.  This means that we will upload a link to the Church Website and to Facebook which will take you to a pre-recorded time of worship, prayer and sermon. All Sunday evening gatherings are postponed until further notice.

2. House Groups are also postponed until further notice. Each HG leader will be in touch to maintain these essential points of contact, and we encourage everyone to keep the communities alive through social media/phone calls, especially to those most vulnerable at this time.

3. Invitation to Mobilise: over the coming days, we are going to be inviting our church family to reach out to their respective neighbours with a flyer, offering assistance should neighbours require it in the days to come. The assistance will take the form of offering to collect essential shopping items/prayer and encouragement for those who find themselves in isolation. We also aim to partner with local organisations as their various vehicles for support become established.

4. OPEN HEAVEN, like all other gatherings at the Albany Street venue, are postponed, but we can still remain connected to our brothers and sisters across the region through other means - let's hold each other up in prayer, and reach out through the gift of modern technology to built up and encourage one another!

We hold fast to the supernatural peace only found through the abiding in Jesus Christ, and we offer our bodies as a living sacrifice to God as we call out "Father, use us at this time of challenge, for the sake of Your Kingdom and for the sake of Your community." Amen
