OBC Development Project - Serving the Mission of Christ

Imagine a future in which every single person in the Oban area has heard the 

life-changing and the life-saving gospel of Jesus Christ...

God's vision and mission for His Church is incredible. At OBC, we believe this to be true for us here in the Oban area - called to serve the mission of Christ where we are, and with all that we have. A mission that is two-fold: to strengthen the local body of Christ, and to introduce the people of our community to the God who loves them and longs for them to be restored back to Him through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ.

This incredible task is lived out everywhere we go, individually in simple and honest Christ-like living, and corporately as a family of faith. Such a mission requires a mission and ministry hub, where the church can be strengthened and equipped, and where the people of our community can find a warm welcome and safe haven in the storms of life.

Our existing church building was built in 1903, and was designed to suit the needs of its time. However, the mission for 2025 and beyond requires something new. Something more fitting for the activity of the OBC family and the mission to our community. Something fit for purpose in the 21st Century - a community hub for contemporary worship, church family life and the loving service of the people of Oban.  

Having engaged experienced architect Raymond Angus (Angus Design Architects), a new worship facility has been designed to meet the growing congregation's needs and serve the mission of Jesus Christ in the Oban area. With plans now approved, we have entered the fundraising phase!
