The Family Values of OBC
The Oban Baptist Church family is Spiritual. We are committed to facilitating the active work of the Holy Spirit, operating in and through all who profess Jesus as Saviour and Lord. We view and value each other in accordance with God’s Word: that everyone in Christ is called by God and gifted by the Spirit to actively function as a member of Christ’s body, the Church.
The Oban Baptist Church family is Relational. We understand that relationship matters amongst those called to lay down their lives, as living sacrifices, for Christ and each other. We prioritise the deepening of relationships in every aspect of our church life, because we understand that every single member of the body of Christ has significant intrinsic value, worth and purpose in the eyes of God.
The Oban Baptist Church family is Generational. This is a true reflection of the Body of Christ, comprising the youngest to the oldest, the spiritually new in faith to the spiritually mature. We are passionate about the role of the generations in the journey of faith, understanding that every individual across every generation has the potential to impact all others for the benefit of God’s Kingdom.
The Oban Baptist Church family is Missional. At OBC, we believe that all who profess faith in Jesus Christ can be (and should be) an active witness on their own frontline. Jesus instructed His followers to go out into the world and share His truth, that the lost might be found and thus restored to the Father. At OBC, we count it as a privilege to be able to speak of the hope and promise only found in Jesus Christ.
